Dr Evelyn Lamari
General Practitioner

Dr Lamari completed her medical degree in 2006 at James Cook University. Evelyn’s special interests include Women’s Health, Chronic Diseases, Sexual Health, Refugee Medicine, Mental Health, Minor Procedures as well as all aspects of General Practice. She is involved with the education and teaching of Medical Students, Interns and Registrars in tutorial and clinical settings.
GP Registrars
MBBS
A GP Registrar is a qualified doctor who is undergoing training to become a specialist GP through a period of working and training in a medical practice. They will usually have spent at least two years working in a hospital before you see them in a practice and are supervised by a senior GP.
We have various GP Registrars working within our practice who can provide assistance in all aspects of general medicine.
Our current GP Registrars are Dr Sarah Garutti, Dr Yamesha Ranatunga and Dr Amber Revell.
Hannah Aisa
Clinic Lead
Hannah Aisa is an Occupational Therapist and lecturer/clinical lead educator at James Cook University (JCU). Following her graduation from James Cook University in 2018, Hannah has experience working in private practice providing family centred support for clients aged 0 to 18 years old. She has experience in collaborating with schools, kindergarten, and other health professionals to provide a holistic intervention approach. She has a special interest in supporting families in addressing challenging behaviours and increasing participation in school. Outside of her work, Hannah enjoys outdoor activities such as golf, fishing, and camping.
Dr Margot Bosanquet
Specialist Paediatrician and Rehabilitation Physician

Dr Bosanquet is a QLD educated and trained Paediatrician and Rehabilitation Specialist who brings extensive clinical experience and expertise in caring for children 0 - 18 years with issues within general paediatrics, developmental and behavioural conditions, and paediatric rehabilitation. Dr Bosanquet is experienced in diagnosing and caring for children with chronic complex medical issues, functional impairment, learning disorders, as well as more common developmental conditions such as autism and ADHD. She considers care with a holistic approach and has focus on inclusion and quality of life.
Dr Bosanquet completed her medical training at the University of Queensland in 2002. She completed her paediatric training at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane (early 2011), and was awarded a Royal Children Hospital Foundation Clinical Research Fellowship Grant in the field of cerebral palsy. While further embarking on additional training in paediatric rehabilitation, Dr Bosanquet concurrently worked as a paediatrician at the Royal Children’s Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital and private practice before relocating to Townsville in 2014.
Dr Bosanquet holds a Senior Staff Specialist position at the Townsville University Hospital, and academic appointment with JCU. She has active research interests in cerebral palsy and early recognition of developmental conditions. She is a member of the Chapter of Community Child Health, and is also a current national examiner for the Australian College of Physicians (Paediatrics)
Dr Prasani Ketheesan

MBBS, Post Grad Cert. in Travel and Dive Medicine, FRACGP
Dr Ketheesan who was born in Sri Lanka graduated from medicine in 1988. She has lived in Townsville for over 21 years and was initially employed at the Townsville Hospital working as an anaesthetist before working as a GP within a variety of local practices. Prasani has been at Unihealth Medical Centre (now called JCUHealth) since 2003. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2004 and has also obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Travel and Dive Medicine. She has also obtained a Certificate in Family Planning. Her interests include Travel Health, Children’s and Women’s Health, Minor Skin Procedures and Dive Medicals (Occupational and Recreational). Prasani is involved in the education of Medical Students, Interns and Registrars.
Dr Rajvir Kaur
General Practitioner
MBBS, FRACGP, FPS
Dr Kaur completed her medical degree from James Cook University in 2012 and has worked in hospitals and GP Clinics across Melbourne. She returned to Townsville in 2016 and has since been working at JCUHealth. She has an interest in children’s and women’s health, including implanon and mirena procedures, mental health, chronic disease management and nutrition, including iron infusions.
Dr Ruth Eagles
General Practitioner
MBBS, BMedSci, DRANZCOG Advanced, MPH& TM
Dr Eagles completed her medical degree at Monash University, Melbourne, in 2003. She has worked in hospitals and clinics in Victoria, the Northern Territory and Queensland, as well as volunteering with humanitarian aid organisation Médecins Sans Frontières. Ruth’s special interests include Women’s and Children’s Health, Antenatal and Postnatal Care, Sexual Health, Contraception Advice and Procedures including Implanon and Mirena Intrauterine Devices.
Dr Sally Ennis
General Practitioner
MBBS, DRANZOG, PGDTH+H, FRACGP
Dr Ennis graduated in medicine at Monash University in 1984. During her career she has worked in various hospitals throughout Australia, Cambodia, Tanzania and the UK. Sally has been at Unihealth Medical Centre (now called JCUHealth) since 2006. Her special interests include Women’s Health including procedures relating to Mirena and Copper Intrauterine Devices, Tropical Medicine, Pain Management and all aspects of General Practice. She is involved with the education and teaching of Medical Students, Interns and Registrars in tutorial and clinical settings.
Dr Shane Burgess
Physiotherapist/ Clinical Educator
Shane is a dedicated musculoskeletal physiotherapist specialising in cycling and triathlon. With a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement (Honours), a Masters in Physiotherapy, and a PhD in Exercise Science, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his practice. His research, published in peer-reviewed journals, has contributed valuable insights to the field. Since 2004, Shane has been a casual educator at the University of South Australia, teaching subjects such as Physiology, Training and Performance, Exercise Physiology, Sport and Skill Analysis, and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Despite spending most of his career as part of a large multidisciplinary team treating patients, Shane finds immense fulfillment in sharing his expertise and facilitating the learning of students. His passion for musculoskeletal physiotherapy is evident in his commitment to continuous learning, improved patient outcomes, and his desire to make meaningful contributions to the field.
Dr Susheel Suvarna
General Practitioner
MBBS, FRACGP, D’Ortho, MRCS Edinburgh
Dr Suvarna graduated in Medicine in 1994. He later worked in the UK for 7 years before moving to Mackay where he worked for 5 years. Dr Suvarna and his family relocated to Townsville in 2014 quickly becoming part of the JCUHealth team. Susheel’s interests include Orthopaedics, Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine & Injury Management, Minor Surgery and all aspects of General Practice.
Dr Suzanne Willis
General Practitioner
MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Willis is a Townsville local who completed her medical degree in 2013 at James Cook University. Prior to completing her fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2021, she worked in General Medicine, Mental Health and rural hospital settings in Townsville and surrounds. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice. She is also involved with the education and teaching of General Practice registrars in tutorial and clinical settings.
Dr Tarun Sen Gupta

Dr Sen Gupta was educated at The University of Qld and graduated in medicine in 1985. He is a Professor and the Director of Medical Education at the JCU School of Medicine. He has worked at Unihealth Medical Centre (now called JCUHealth) since 2002. Dr Sen Gupta has previously worked as a rural doctor, and has been involved in national assessment processes for the RACGP and ACRRM. His special interests include Minor Surgery, Medical Education, Rural Medicine and Communication/Consultation Skills. He is involved with the education and teaching of Medical Students, Interns and Registrars in tutorial and clinical settings.
Tegan Humphries
Physiotherapist / Clinical Educator
Tegan graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2013. Tegan worked as a full time physiotherapist in a local musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice before coming on board as one of the Clinical Educators in the JCU Physiotherapy Clinic in 2021. Tegan has a strong interest in assisting the growth and development of undergraduate physiotherapy students whilst ensuring quality patient care.
